Examples
Each example lists the fields to set in the rule editor. Fields not mentioned keep their default. Before saving, use Replay on a plant to check the threshold against your own plants — the numbers below are starting points, not recommendations for every plant. The rule assistant builds any of these from a single sentence, too.
Inverter Without Power During the Day
An inverter that delivers nothing for two hours while the sun is up.
- What it watches: AC power per inverter — Each component
- Value: Latest value · is below · Threshold 10 W
- For at least: 120 min
- Only during: Sunrise +1 h – sunset −1 h
- Level: High
- Alert text:
{component} delivers only {value} (limit {threshold})
One alert opens per affected inverter and resolves when it produces again. Shorten the hours in winter, or use a metric of your own that compares with the irradiance — see the next example.
Plant Feeding In Too Little
The plant's yield falls far below what the weather allows.
- What it watches: an organization metric such as performance ratio — Plant total
- Value: Over the last 60 min · is below · Threshold 0.7
- Clears only at: 0.8
- Only during: Mon – Sun, sunrise +2 h – sunset −2 h
- Level: Normal
The clear threshold keeps a ratio wavering around 0.7 from opening and closing the alert every few minutes.
Flapping String
A string that drops out again and again, even if each drop is short.
- What it watches: string current — Each component
- Value: Latest value · is below · Threshold 0.1 A
- Fire when it happens several times: 3 times within 60 minutes
- Only during: Sunrise +1 h – sunset −1 h
- Level: Normal
Meter Stopped Reporting
The grid meter delivers no values, although the plant itself is still connected.
- What it watches: grid feed-in — Plant total
- Value: Latest value · is below · Threshold −1000000000 (never true by value)
- When there is no value: Alert
- For at least: 30 min
- Level: High
The condition itself never holds, so only missing data opens the alert. If the whole plant stops reporting, the separate alert Alert rules not checked opens instead — see Engine status.
Maintenance Window
The inverters of one plant are replaced on Thursday — nobody should be woken up.
Create a silence for that plant and every rule, for one day, with the comment inverter replacement. Alerts are still recorded and marked Silenced; after the silence, notifications resume by themselves.
Report to a Team Channel
The alerts of your most important rules go to the operations channel in Microsoft Teams.
Create a Webhook receiver with the format Microsoft Teams and the address of the channel's incoming webhook (how to create one), then attach it to the rules under Receivers. A receiver gets every alert of its rules regardless of anybody's level settings — attach it only to the rules the channel should hear about.
